The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto Marketing and Sales Collateral

Marketing and Sales Collateral

The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto opened in February 2014 n the heart of Japan’s ancient imperial city of Kyoto.

It was the task of the marketing and sales collateral to tempt guests from all over the world into making that crucial initial booking. Brochures and factsheets promoting the hotel, guest rooms and suites, bars and restaurants, events facilities and The Ritz-Carlton Spa merge the designer’s craft with the finest materials the Japanese printing and paper making tradition has to offer.

All materials have been produced in English and Japanese.

Art Glossary Magazine

Art Glossary Magazine

Magazine

Art Glossary magazine is a new free quarterly art and design magazine. The main purpose of our magazine is seeking a new definition of art. They believe that technologies give artists and designers more creative opportunities, thus made the definition of art and design become broader and blurrier. Their editorial and design team is based in London and consisted of members from Europe and Asia.

Their distribution points include universities, museums, galleries and book stores in London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

In the first issue, they have interviewed Simon Taylor from Tomato, Mario Hugo, and other established and upcoming artists and designers from all over the world, and share their inspirations and experiences with readers. You can also read our magazine online.

Sushi des Artistes

Sushi des Artistes

Identity/Website

Sushi des Artistes is a modern Japanese restaurant opened in Marbella, Spain. They are opening a new restaurant in London on 10/May/2012, and I renewed their logo. The main concept of the restaurant is ‘touch of romance’. Hoping the three elements, customers, staffs, and Japanese foods, get together and make a big romance in the restaurant, I used a fleur-de-lis as a motif. The restaurant is opening on 10/May, so please visit their website to see further details.

Touch and Detach

Touch and Detach

Sound visualization

We hear sounds constantly. Whether they are comfortable or uncomfortable, we used to spend time enjoying the sounds of nature. Back in Japan, there was a culture in which people went out to listen to the crickets under the moonlight. However, modern culture attached a high value to the visual culture, pushing the sounds culture to its corner.

My final project reconsiders the meaning of sounds in the daily life. The project allows the audience to re-recognize the existence and meaning of sounds through synesthetic visuals which enhance the experience of sounds. By this process of hearing and seeing, you may rediscover the value of the sound.

B&W Product catalogue 2014

B&W Product catalogue 2014

Product catalogue

Bowers & Wilkins product catalogue design hasn’t been changed for more than 5 years, so the biggest task on this catalogue was keeping the Bowers branding and giving a fresh look. As Bowers & Wilkins has more new media products such as Wireless Music Systems and Headphone. we have added the contents page and divider spreads. It became 136 pages in total, which is the biggest volume so far, the navigation of this brochure is very easy. And the full bleed image maximize the beauty of the shots.
